I have had a lovely, busy weekend!
On Friday night Jessie and I had a Supernatural marathon and finished season 3 (after which I immediately ordered season 4 online), and Jack went out to see some bands.
Then we all got up on Saturday and went to the ZOOOOO! We saw some Capuchins having sex and grinning like creeps, and a couple of humans rolling around on a picnic rug with their legs intertwined (pre-coital for sure) in the middle of the rainforest section!
The platypus was a fucking delight, he was swimming in loops, gaining momentum, then would splash and shimmy up the window, out of the water! HE WAS ADORABLE :3
The Sumatran tiger was sad, because he was crazy and pacing :(
But then we patted stingrays! They kept poking their noses out of the water and doing a dance. I loved them.
I got to relive the glory of my childhood in the Butterfly House, which was beautiful. The Monarchs are fucking fantastic, and there were some great caterpillar geeks in there, too.
All the other animals were lovely and amazing.
After zoo times, we went straight to The LuWow for Jessie’s farewell drinks, where the Mai Tais were only $10 until 8pm… So we probably had about four or five each in 2.5 hours, which was… irresponsibly delicious. I had one more cocktail after that and then I was done, we were home in bed by midnight! A lovely night was spent with some wonderful people. :)
Today Jack and I ate breakfast in the sun and lazed around for most of the day, reading newspapers and playing guitar… Then we drove to have dinner with his parents, and I’ve gotta say- the whole of Northcote was positively fragrant with the scent of basil! I thought I was having a stroke, because it was just so strong and constant, but Jack didn’t really notice it… +_+
NOW I AM GOING TO BED, and then tomorrow will be a new week. A very busy week in which I have two meetings instead of one, Jessie leaves the country, I see my psychiatrist, and hopefully lots of good shit will happen. YAY!
